Essential Air Ltd recognises that day-to-day operations and products in our sector can potentially have both positive and negative impacts on the environment. We are fully committed to minimising the potential harmful effects of its actions and products wherever practicable.
We insist on compliance with all relevant global environmental legislation and regulatory controls and some basic aims include minimising waste, maximising use of resources and prevention of pollution in all areas of the business. We also strive to identify significant environmental & social impacts and establish objectives and targets for improvement. Essential Air is a member of the Refcom scheme meaning that we hold the F gas company certification requiring us to adhere to legislation regarding CFC gas emissions which are harmful to the environment. Our duty is to ensure that we take action to prevent any gas leaks which are best avoided by regular maintenance of your refrigeration and air conditioning units.
The environment and ozone friendly air conditioning refrigerant:
Making sense of the fact it is now illegal for us (indeed any air-conditioning company) to use R22 refrigerant under the terms of the Ozone Regulation EC2037/2000. Specifically we are allowed to use recycled R22 for air conditioning maintenance purposes for another 4 years, but the challenge of doing so is that whilst using the recycled material can save money, the quality of it cannot be guaranteed. Having said that, all of our air conditioning work is fully guaranteed so it's our problem rather than yours and another good reason to appoint an air conditioning specialist and make use of the services they can offer..
One of the core reasons that R22 was banished is that whilst R22 in air conditioning is very efficient when the system is new it becomes less so, using much more energy for the same output than non HCFE refrigerants such as the later R410a.
Some of this may seem truly complex and confusing when considering air-conditioning even in rural Berkshire, but HCFE indicates the presence of bromine, chlorine, or fluorine, respectively. Compounds that also contain hydrogen are preceded by the letter H to signify the increased deterioration potential before reaching the stratosphere - as we said complex stuff.
The impact this legislation has on you, our client is disposal of old systems and if your air- conditioning system is old you would be strongly advised to consider its repair as the cost of running new equipment will be substantially reduced.
At Essential Air we are hugely experienced in the repair of older air conditioning units of which there is a wide choice, but our advice is free, so click here for a free assessment services of your air-conditioning in Berkshire.
